This recipe has come from a friend of mine who, like me, loves to look after her dogs with some homebaked treats. This recipe - if you can call it that - is an absolute winner with my boys. I have caught them many times trying to climb the laundry shelves to get to them! Very little effort goes into making them but you will save around $8 by making them yourself (compared to store bought liver treats). Thanks so much to Sarah for putting me onto this, Jack and Ralph are very grateful too. Eb x
I buy the Lambs Fry for around $2.00 each at Woolworths.
If preparing 1 only - Add 500g water to the bowl, insert simmering basket and place lambs fry in the basket. Cook for around 15 minutes at 100deg Speed 3.
If preparing 2 - Add 500g water to the bowl, place varoma on top and place a lambs fry on the bottom and top tray. Cook for 17 minutes at Varoma Speed 3.
Allow to cool. Preheat oven to 160deg. Line baking trays with baking paper. Thinly slice the lambs fry and spread over the trays. Bake until they are crispy - approx 30-40 mins turning half way through.
Cool completely then place into an airtight container and reward your pet as necessary.
