Favourite Smoothies

Generally when it comes to juicing and smoothies for me it's just a case of chuck in whatever I have on hand.  But I have decided to pay more attention to what is going in so I can share the real winners with you.  Here are 4 regulars in my house.  Enjoy.  Eb x

Cacao Banana Smoothie

My 10 year olds favourite smoothie and after school or breakfast drink.

  • 200g frozen bananas chopped (or 100g fresh banana and 100g ice cubes)
  • 15g cacao powder
  • 200g milk of choice
  • 20g maple syrup

Add everything into the bowl and blitz on Speed 10 for 1.5-2 minutes.

Berry Smoothie (Dairy Free)

My husbands favourite.  This is adapted from a smoothie he had while on holidays.

  • 100g almonds (raw or blanched)
  • 200g frozen raspberries
  • 200g strawberries fresh
  • 60g pitted medjool dates
  • 1 banana (optional)
  • 400g water
  • Cacao nibs (optional for garnish)

Add almonds to the bowl and blitz on Speed 9 for 10 seconds. Add everything except the water into the bowl and blitz on Speed 10 for 1.5-2 minutes.  While blitzing slowly add the water via the MC.

Orange Sunshine

Just a refreshing start to the day.  The honey add a beautiful sweetness but you can cut it back to 10g or leave out if you don't want extra sweetness in it.

  • 300g peeled and halved oranges
  • 1 pear quarterd seeds removed (approx. 140g)
  • 1 carrot chopped (approx. 90g)
  • 5g fresh ginger peeled
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 20g honey
  • 200g icecubes

Add everything into the bowl and blitz on Speed 10 for 1.5-2 minutes.

Mocha Thickshake (Dairy Free)

And this is my latest invention!  What a great pick me up.  Full of goodness but it tastes naughty!

  • 80g almonds
  • 80g avocado
  • 200g icecubes
  • 15g cacao powder
  • 60g pitted medjool dates
  • 1 shot of coffee (I used a Nespresso pod shot)
  • Water (approx. ½ - 1 cup or until you get your preferred consistency)

Add almonds to the bowl and blitz on Speed 9 for 10 seconds. Add everything except the water into the bowl and blitz on Speed 10 for 1.5-2 minutes.  While blitzing slowly add the water via the MC.
