This was one of my most favourite slices growing up. A very simple slice but absolutely delicious and hard to stop at just one slice!! Now my kids are loving it also. Hope you do too. Eb x
- 150g self raising flour
- 60g caster sugar
- 70g coconut
- 150g dates
- 120g butter
- 50g golden syrup
Preheat oven to 160deg and line a slice tray.
Add dates to the bowl and chop on Speed 6 for 6 seconds. SET ASIDE
Add butter and syrup to the bowl and melt at 60deg for 3 minutes Speed 2.
Add all ingredients into the bowl and mix on Reverse Speed 4 for 20 seconds.
Press into the slice tin and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool.
- 50g butter
- 250g icing
- 30g fresh lemon juice
Add butter, icing sugar and lemon juice to bowl and mix on Speed 4-5 for 10 seconds, scrape sides and repeat if necessary. Spread once slice is cool.
