Chicken, Bacon and French Onion Casserole

This is a true winter warmer. Child friendly, quick and easy.  Loved by all in this family!  Enjoy this on a cold winter’s eve when you need to warm the cockles!  Bek x

  • 1kg chicken thigh fillets
  • 3 rashers bacon
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2tbsp flour
  • 3tbsp French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 2tbsp sour cream
  • Oil for browning


Put flour and French onion soup mix in a freezer bag

Slice chicken thigh fillets into three strips and toss in flour/soup mix

Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry chicken fillets

When browned all over place into TMX basket

In TMX bowl place garlic, onion and bacon and chop for 2 seconds on Speed 5

Scrape down sides and add oil that chicken browned off in and sauté 5 minutes 100 degrees speed 1

Add remainder of flour mix from bag and water.  Place basket into TMX bowl and cook for 25 minutes 100 degrees reverse speed soft

When cooked remove basket and place chicken into thermoserver

Add sour cream to bowl and mix reverse speed 3 for 30 seconds.  Pour sauce over chicken meat. Serve with mash and vegies
