Dog's Dinner!

Make no bones about it!  this one is for the pups :)  I am trying to limit the number of processed, packaged foods in my house so why should my dogs miss out on a home cooked dinner.  I do give my dogs biscuits to help with the tooth decay build up but I also like to spoil them with some real food each night.  This one is a real money saver too.  Ralph will eat pretty much anything but Jack, for some reason, is a bit more choosy.  He isn't a fan of beef based dinners and definitely prefers his chicken.  He loves this dinner.  Spoil your pooches too, they deserve it.  Eb x

  • 1 kg of chicken giblets (available from woolies/coles at around $5.60/kg)
  • 300g washed rice
  • 2 carrots roughly chopped.

I put 800g water in the TMX bowl, rice in the steamer basket, Giblets in the Varoma.  If you want the carrots cooked you could also add to the Varoma.  Cook for 20 minutes at Varoma Speed 4.

When finished put the rice into a bowl, drain water and add giblets to the bowl and shred on Speed 5 for approx 5-10 seconds, set aside with rice.  I then added raw carrots to the bowl and grated on Speed 7 for 5 seconds.  Mix them all together.

Portion into "takeaway" containers and freeze for when you need them.  The above mix will give you around 1.5kg of food for around $7.00.
